Our school did a beach walk for peace today to celebrate our 1st birthday of the school opening (Assisi Catholic College). The whole school (which comprises P-4 and Years 8 & 9) were bus-ed down to Main Beach. Quite a logistic nightmare especially with so many little ones but a joyful event nonetheless. Posted by Picasa

Renee and Anisia. Renee lived with us up until quite recently. She moved to South Australia and now teaches at Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills. Since all of her bridesmaids for her impending wedding are in Queensland (that includes Anisia), Renee travelled up here for her hen's weekend on the Sunshine Coast. She and Flo stayed with us for a night last week. Posted by Picasa
Renee and her almost mother-in-law Florence Peitsch (aka Flo and Flossie). Renee will marry Flo's eldest son Mathias in January 2007. Posted by Picasa

Do we look anything like Jamaicans?

We went to a quiz night at St Michaels' College last night here on the coast. Each team had to choose a country and dress themselves, their table and prepare their food in the theme of the country. We were meant to be Jamaicans, but I think the colour of our skin let us down. Posted by Picasa
Our "team". The Thailand shirts came in handy. Posted by Picasa

Back to Q1

Yup.....we ventured back to the top of the Q1 for a look with Caro our German homestay student. Last time we went we were here later in the day and this time we had a perfect 360 degree view. Kevin liked the idea of this picture with me looking like I'm right on the edge; well maybe I do live a bit on the edge. Not bad considering my fear of heights, and having to rely on the pane of glass to hold me. Caro was not so brave.........
Enough sightseeing........now it's the end of the holidays for both Kevin and I so we're off into the fast lane again for Term 3. Posted by Picasa
Hello Cheyne and Mel....you are just under 700kms down thataaaaaaaaway! Posted by Picasa
Looking northward, not so good because of the angle of the sun and reflection on the glass, but still breathtaking. Posted by Picasa
Looking out toward the hinterland and Mt Warning is in the far background. Ellie....we never did get to climb that again with you and Daniel.Posted by Picasa
Magnificent pictures of our local coastline looking southward. Posted by Picasa
We took Caro today for a quick tour around of the local area.......we drove to the end of the spit and walked to the end of the breakwater. Posted by Picasa
Just us on the broadwater. Not much surf but a lot of boating action...... Posted by Picasa
