Carcasonne fun.....

Anisia came down to the Coast this last weekend with her 'fictitious' friend Kirsten....Joshua and Colby also headed down the sunny coast and we all enjoyed some bonding playing Carcasonne using Kirsten's game with almost all of the add ons. So if someone loves us enough to buy us the Princess and the Dragon addin....that would be just dandy. Bing (our Chinese student) also loves Carcasonne; Josh and Colby were VERY quick to pick up on the rules....they say thanks to Nanna Scholz for teaching them all those card games as kids!!!!! Check out Josh trying to hide the plate of food from the camera.......Before a scrummo BBQ dinner, a fairly fierce game of pool volleyball happened. The pool WAS full from the rain; Josh did an enormous BOMB and half emptied it!!!!Well done, not all of us could have done that!

Recognise anything new?

Hello.......long time no blogging.
Life has gone back into the fast lane. We celebrated our 31st Wedding Anniversary this last week. Special thanks to Neish for the canoeing on the Brisbane River voucher, which we look forward to using asap. Also great to chat with Rikki and Ellie, who are proud I know that we have stuck together through 31 years. One of our major changes we both have made since returning from China is our daily commitment to walking after dinner. It's a beautiful time of the day to walk, particularly given we don't have daylight saving. We walk for at least an hour, and it's a special time for us to talk about the day's events. Last night we drove down to Surfers, had some takeaway then walked for a 1/2 an hour south, and back again to the car.....most invigorating.
We are counting down the weeks until Easter now and making preparations for our family gatherings in Adelaide. I have immersed myself into my research, which I feel very strongly led to continue to the end. I have changed supervisors (2 newies, one is an Associate Prof with a lot more experience than my "old" supervisor).
Kevin has been facing many challenges too of late, so keep him in your prayers as he makes decisions about his life course.
We know too that prayer is so important when we don't know what else to do, so we also pray for brother-in-law Rick (Elizabeth's husband)as he faces heart surgery this week, then treatment for prostate cancer once he has sufficiently recovered from his operation. Not to mention that he has barely recovered from surgery for a hernia.....he has had a few tough blows these last weeks.
The photo is to see if you recognise anything new......if you didn't pick it, it is the glasses. My eyes are failing miserably, probably due in part to what I am doing right now......too much reading and computer work. Now my long eye sight has deteriorated and my graduated lenses now try to compensate from both perspectives. Yay....ageing gracefully....I'm not so sure.
