My Mum's creativity
I continue to be amazed at my Mother's amazing abilities with her quilting. This is Ellie's quilt which I think was her 21st gift from my Mum (her Nana). The design is called the Tree of Life which is at the centre, then that is surrounded by the likes of Jacob's Ladder etc. My niece Kailah is holding the quilt, and it now lives in Ellie and Jordan's spare room in Adelaide (for ye who visit).
Hello
Just us again......at Noby's 50th birthday celebrations. It was held in a function room at the Southport Worker's Club with probably some 5o people. Quite a lot of family had come up from Victoria, and they had all been out to the "Outback Spectacular" (near Movieworld) the night before, then arrived in stretch limos for the party. Apparently the Outback Spectacular is absolutely brilliant, so we have that on our agenda for a special event........

Thanks for the Mother's Day gifts
Today was Mother's Day....began with the usual Sunday morning trip to the markets (like the Proverbs 31 woman who brings her food from afar, watches for bargains, and gets up before dawn to prepare for her household.....); phone call from Cheyne in Sydney; off to church (did the Children's address about Mother's Day with chocolate handouts for all the Mums); home for morning tea and scones made by Anisia; a call from Rikki in Adelaide and a chat to my Mum, also in Adelaide; phone call from adopted Indian son Nishan (thanks for the call); a friendly !!!??? game of Carcassonne with the person wielding the dragon as the enemy; wraps for lunch; afternoon tea; missed phone call from Ellie (by the way Lisa Stapleton was at church, home from Canada for a week with some Canadian friends who I think you had met) and then soon we're off to our Chinese adopted children, Sam and Selina for Chinese hotpot. What else could I hope for....I'm very proud of all of our children. Thanks for the gifts......jewellery holder from Anisia and Carcassonne from Rikki....great gifts....puppet from Kevin which I was eying off in Kuranda and he secretly went off and bought. Very sneaky.....a therapy tool! Thanks everyone for all of your love.

May Day weekend in Cairns.....
On the May long weekend we ventured up to Cairns. Considering I hadn't been further north in Australia than Nambour (very sad), we jumped at the opportunity when friend Nishan invited us to come up and stay in the resort where he was accommodated while he was working in Cairns for about 8 weeks. Kevin had been to Cairns a number of times so it wasn't new to him, but I loved the green-ness c.f. south east Qld (at the moment), the beautiful rainforests and lots of water. Australia is truly a beautiful country.
We ventured further north of Cairns as far as the Daintree which is just north of Mossman, again so very lush and beautiful. We were blessed with gorgeous weather, not at all humid and cool-ish at night. Not sure I'd like to be there in the wet season though.
Fortunately Kevin and I will be making another trip up there later in the year, as Kevin won a business-class all expenses paid trip up there just 2 days after we had purchased the tickets for this trip. A tough life!!!!!
We also met up with the Fysh's on Sunday at church, and had a lovely meal at their home that night.
Have just put up a random selection of pics, with not much explanation as we've had some upheaval here at home this week since we returned. ENJOY...
