Kevin and I flew to Sydney this last weekend, left early Saturday morning and flew home late last night, so spent four quality days with Cheyne and Mel. They enjoyed hosting us and taking us around Sydney, saw their lovely new home on the south western outskirts of Sydney. Mel spoilt us with some lovely home cooking, excelling herself with her lasagne, trifle, lamingtons and chocolate cake. They are both well and send their love to everyone.

Lake Burragorang

We visited this reservoir which is one of Sydney's main water supplies, and located at the southern tip of the Blue Mountains. The dam supply was at about 20% until recent rains brouhgt the levels up to 50%. The pictures still show there is a long way to go, and the rain that fell while we were in Sydney was certainly welcomed.

The Rocks

It's so hard to stop snapping photos as you walk around Circular Quay as you see a perfect photo at every turn with either the Opera House or the Harbour Bridge somewhere in the background. The markets were open at the Rocks so it was nice to have another browse through them, and come out only spending a few dollars.

We took a ferry acros the harbour to Luna Park and Darling Harbour and got the most amazing pictures of the Opera House. The weather had been showering on and off all day and as we crossed the harbour the sun was shining right on the Opera House with dark clouds gathering behind. It looked spectacular.

Japanese gardens

Cheyne and Mel took us to see some Japanese Gardens in Auburn....still very pretty in spite of being winter. In summer they are apparently often used for wedding photos.

Thanks Neish.....

Another weekend gone by. I did some more scanning of memorabilia along with some laughter and tears. We had a social day today and are looking forward to flying to Sydney early next Saturday morning. Anisia came down on Saturday night for another win at Carcasonne at our friends the Stillers. She's practising up before she takes on Nathan in Adelaide in a couple of weeks.......watch out Nathan, she is very sneaky, pretends she's doing stuff for your benefit then goes in for the kill!
