Here we are in Shanghai.....
After a rocky start off of Base 1 (Brisbane) we are in Shanghai and not Chengdu as was Plan A. It's a long Visa story....didn't get to leave on the 12th as planned; had an extremely anxiety provoking day on the 13th.....got the world's fastest Visa processed by the stone-faced Chinese man at the Chinese consulate in Brisbane(the power of prayer to change a man's heart is amazing) ....waited on standby with 20 others last night in Brisbane (minus Sam & Selina who had left the previous night when we were meant to leave)...more fervent prayers with Nishan also praying hard I'm sure......then we got the last 2 seats on the already full plane (almost everyone else was turned away)....and blessing upon blessing...they were in business class. So we flew to Singapore for a 2 hour stopover before going straight to Shanghai and not Chengdu as connecting flights were impossible. Please do NOT ask for the full version of the story.....Anisia thanks for your amazing support...Nishan too and Sam and Selina who we will meet up with tomorrow and fly back to Chengdu with after a few days here in Shanghai. SO....we ARE now in China...not sure how we'll manage the pollution......our sinuses are already taking a beating and we've been off to the drugstore to counteract that hopefully. Shopping here looks amazing....SO many shops it leaves Bangkok for DEAD. Will publsh again soon....it was a challenge navigating the web in Chinese....where are you when we need you Sam and Selina. Oh and it's much more difficult with the language here than in Thailand as few people speak any English. How hard it was to get some milk for a cup of tea tonight....and they didn't get it right!

Wow, I had no idea you had so much trouble! With travel, nothing is ever easy, I swear. Countless times I just cried because things wouldn't go RIGHT! There was always some little glitch.
SO COOL to see you two in another country! I'm so glad you're doing it at last. Hope there's not so much smog in Chengdu?! I love the buzz of being in another country and not being able to read the language and the excitement of finding an English speaker! Oh the ignorant Western World - we expect them to speak OUR language! Hope you learn some Chinese while you're there :)
Hopefully it's smooth sailing from there though. Will you still get to see Meryl?
Love you both lots. So great to see you having your adventure at last :)
