Christmas Hampers 2005

So theses are the 100 hampers that we put together for the Trinity Family Support Centre at our house, 15th December. All goods were donated by church members over the past couple of months, and each bucket consisted of what would constitute a Christmas dinner for at least 2 people complete with Bon-Bons, ham vegies, pudding, custard etc. These will be given out to the needy people in our Gold Coast community next week.
We also wrapped some 150 presents, all donated goods to hand out in the coming week. In addition to nourishing people physically, we thought it important to feed them spiritually and used the hampers as an opportunity to spread the gospel, so tracts were placed in each hamper. Adults and children will also be given a book which contains the story of Jesus, and how He can make a difference in their lives.
What a buzz this was, seeing the hive of activity and the kids and adults so excited about being able to give to others. This is what Christmas is about.
